Elroy M. Peterson, 88, of Janesville died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. Elroy was born on September 23, 1922 in Iola, wI, the son of Osmund and Hilda (Peterson) Peterson. He graduated from Iola High School in 1941. He married Alice Mae Rohloff on October 8, 1949 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Appleton. Elroy was employed by Central Wisconsin Electric Co-op in Iola for 10 years and then transferred to Rock County Electric Co-op where he worked for 31 years retiring in 1989. Elroy was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he belonged to the Fellowship Club, served as an elder, was on the Evangelism Board and ushered. He was a member of Sons of Norway Nordland Lodge # 544. Surviving are his wife of over 61 years, Alice Peterson, 4 daughters, Cynthia Peterson of Machesney Park, Il, Sallie Szilveszter of Wild Rose, WI, Sandra (Michael) Baze of Olympia, WA, Susan (Scott) Rucas of Chandler, AZ, 8 grandchildren, Stacy (Carter Ryerson) Ayers, Angela (Justin Howard) Ayers, Danielle (Chuck) Watson, Timothy (Lindsey) Szilveszter, Matthew Szilveszter, Bianca Baze, Haley Rucas, Zachary Rucas, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Donna Purchatzke of Waupaca, WI, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louise Albrecht, Ruth Smith, Marion (Richard) Hinz, Robert and Kenneth Rohloff, Erwin Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers–in-law and sisters-in-law, Willard Purchatzke, Paul, Carl and Harvey Rohloff, Lester Brockman, Robert Scott, Gene Smith, Arnold Albrecht, Verna, Donna, Bernice and Cleone Rohloff.  The family extends a special “thank-you” to the staff at Rock Haven for the wonderful care Elroy received.        Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor James Hendrikson officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
